CFN Lawyers LLP is pleased to announce that we acted as legal adviser to Simon Siu, founder and CEO of SS Ventures Limited, in the 100% interest disposal of the company to Uber International Technologies Corporation. SS Ventures Limited is the operator of Fly Taxi (飛的), one of Hong Kong’s most established mobile taxi-hailing platforms.

An Entrepreneurial Journey: From Technology to Innovation
The transaction marks a significant milestone in the career of Simon Siu. With a robust background in technology, Mr. Siu served as a System Development Manager at the Bank of China where he specialized in investment systems and workflow automation.
In December 2014, Mr. Siu founded SS Ventures Limited, transitioning from corporate technology and operational leadership to entrepreneurship. Under his leadership, SS Ventures Limited evolved into a versatile venture-building and advisory hub. Its flagship product, Fly Taxi, was scaled from a startup concept into a familiar name in the Hong Kong transport-tech field.
Fly Taxi: A Decade of Serving in Hong Kong
For over a decade, Fly Taxi has been a quintessential Hong Kong growth story. With millions of registered users, the platform has been serving the city and become one of Hong Kong’s well-known taxi-hailing service providers. The platform operates as a booking service connecting passengers with licensed taxis in Hong Kong, helping make taxi access more convenient for users and supporting drivers’ utilisation.
Fly Taxi has played a crucial role in the modernisation of the Hong Kong taxi industry. We look forward to witnessing Fly Taxi’s continued growth with the strong support of Uber, a global transportation leader.
Our Expertise in Tech M&A
“It has been an honour to represent Simon in this transformative deal,” said CFN Lawyers LLP partner Kelvin Li, “Witnessing the lifecycle of a homegrown company—from its early stage to its integration with a global leader like Uber—is a testament to the vibrancy of Hong Kong’s tech ecosystem. We are committed to remaining a trusted partner for innovators shaping the future of the city.” Meanwhile, this deal demonstrates CFN’s capability of advising and supporting Hong Kong startups in all legal aspects, including on their integration or collaboration with international conglomerates.
The transaction was led by our partner Kelvin Li and consultant Sam Yung, with the dedicated support of the deal team including associate Fion Leung and trainee solicitor Bonita Yu.
